Rory's Band Concert

We really enjoyed Rory's band concert.
They got to play with the Middle & High School bands too.

St. Patrick's Day

The boys decided to dye their hair green for St. Paddy's day...only in America!

Happy Easter

We went for a walk on Easter Sunday, after Rory had found lots of chocolate in the garden! Although there is no snow in our neighbourhood, there is still snow up the hill.

Flat top mountain is behind us...

Skate Skiing to Portage Glacier

I managed to skate ski across Portage Lake to the Portage Lake Glacier. It was such a beautiful day and the conditions for skiing were excellent.

Infront of the glacier...we heard it crack.

Hanging Out

Here are the boys 'hanging out' with their pals .....

Rory will start Middle School next year, and Andrew High School !

Ski Trip to Romig Cabin

I went on a back country ski trip to Romig Cabin, which is on the southern part of the Resurrection Trail. We had a great time- plenty of exercise & fresh air.
Nature at its best...
Maybe bear tacks??

Anna & Angela

Pulling the pulks..

Lunch in Town

Occasionly we get out of our dog walking clothes and head into town...here we are grabbing a coffee before heading to Nordstroms!

Rory's Falkirk Wheel Model

Rory had to build a world structure for a school project.
He chose the Falkirk Wheel.

Finished model

Alyeska Women's Ski Clinic

I took part in a ski clinic offered by Alyeska...really enjoyed it.

Here's the group of girls.

Northern Lights

We managed to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights in Anchorage. It looked like a green swirl of lights...so beautiful.

My friend, Paula, was at her cabin which is near Mt. McKinley and she saw them in their full glory......amazing.

Skiing at Alyeska

Andrew, Rory & Spencer had a fun day out at Alyeska.
We stopped on the way to look at the ice...

Rory enjoying a break..

Melodrama

I sing with Alaska Sound Celebration, and every year they put on a Melodrama (like a Pantomime). This year the Melodrama was called "The Merry Monsters of Matsylvania".

I got to dress up and act like a zombie -great fun!!
Here's me scaring Henriette...

Here I am with Sheena ....we look like Mr & Mrs Death

At the Melodrama, everyone buys bucket loads of popcorn and basically have a popcorn fight before and during the show....I have never seen anything like it -definately an "only in Alaska moment". The kids had an absolute blast !!

Just when we thought Spring was here!!

We thought Spring was round the corner...but no.
Lots more snow arrived the beginning of April.
Here we are having our morning walk -lovely!

More sunsets

The sunsets in Alaska are so beautiful ...
we always enjoy the view from our window.
